All foreign visitors entering the Republic of Korea must possess a valid passport. Delegates, except those from countries who have visa exemption agreements with Korea, should apply to a Korean diplomatic mission in their countries for visas prior to departure. For details, delegates are advised to contact the Korean Embassy in their countries, or view the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade website at www.mofat.go.kr. Please contact the Conference Secretariat if you have difficulties in obtaining a visa.

Application for Visas

  1. 1. Visitors who plan to stay in Korea for longer than 90 days must obtain visas before entering Korea.
  2. 2. Nationals of those countries with which Korea has signed a visa waiver agreement can enter without visas,
    on the condition that they do not engage in remunerative activities during their stay.
  3. * Canadians can also enter the Republic of Korea without visas for a stay of up to six months.

  1. 3. Visa application should be made at the Korean Embassies or Consulates abroad.
  2. 4. Visa applicants are required to submit passport, application forms, a recent passport-style color photograph,
    and other relevant documents as determined by the status of stay.
  3. 5. Visa fees are as follows (visa fees below are basic rates so first contact the Korean Embassy or Consulate
    before applying for a visa):
  1. A. Single entry visa for a stay of no more than 90 days: US$30
  2. B. Single entry visa for a stay of more than 90 days: US$50
  3. C. Multiple entry visa: US$80
  4. D. Prolongation of Reentry Permit: US$20
    * For Citizens of United States of America, multiple entry visa fee is US$45 on the basis of reciprocity since
    the mutual agreement in 1994.
